We investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying macromolecular assemblies. In particular, we focus on the roles of coiled-coil protein sequences in centrosome assembly and dynein-cargo interactions. We also study how centrosome dysfunction at the cellular level leads to developmental anomalies at the organismal level.
